Fall, or Autumn which we mostly call it here in Ireland is one of my favourite seasons. I’m a massive fan of pumpkins, falling leaves and cosy evenings in with a cup of tea watching Hocus Pocus (for the 100th time!). I’m also a big fan of decorating for the holidays and just love how our American pals decorate for the seasons so it’s no surprise that I fell in love with all the incredible decor on our Disney World trip a few weeks ago. I snapped some of the amazing seasonal details to share with you so you too can see how Disney does Fall!
Main Street, U.S.A. is decked out in beautiful candy corn coloured decorations. Make sure you look up and check out the themed pumpkins on the rooftops and peeking from the windows!
This year we also got tickets for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party (also known as MNSSHP on social media!) and had so much fun trick or treating around the Magic Kingdom. This special event allows you to be a little kid again and roam all over the park picking up candy at various trick or treat locations (there are even allergy-friendly treat stations which is pretty great) while smoke and eerie music fill the air. You can also dress up to your hearts content (if you’re a regular visitor to the parks, you’ll know that normally guests over the age of 14 aren’t permitted to dress up in full costume) and I love looking at all the great costumes and just how creative and imaginative these Disney goers can be. From grown-up pirates to tiny toddler princesses it puts a massive smile on my face to see all the costumes around the park!
The party is also a great time to visit the park if you want to get on your favourite rides without having to queue for hours. Most of the lines can be 20 mins or less (they were when we visited anyway!). Fun fact – Pirates of the Carribean and The Haunted Mansion have been my favourite rides since I was a kid so it was pretty great being able to ride these without the massive lines.
There are some pretty special and exclusive Halloween shows that only happen during MNSSHP such as the Boo-to-You Halloween parade (led by the Headless Horseman!), Hallowishes fireworks display and my absolute favourite, the Hocus Pocus Villain Spectacular. If you are visiting the park for the party these are all must-sees!
You can’t beat a Mickey Bar to keep cool in the Florida heat!
This is the second time we attended the MNSSHP, the first time we dressed up as The Mad Hatter and Alice in Wonderland which made for great photos but was pretty warm so this year we chose to simply wear fun Disney outfits. I wore a fun Minnie-Mouse inspired polka dot dress from Bo-Peep.ie with some original Mickey ears.
I didn’t end up getting this mug but boy, do I wish I did!
Next up on the travel wishlist – seeing Disney World at Christmas time!
